A World in Transition
The TOEFL iBT is changing. In January 2026, a new Speaking section will arrive — updated tasks, new scoring rubrics, and deeper alignment with real-world speaking performance. For test-takers, the stakes are higher than ever. Speaking remains the single hardest skill to master and the one that holds back thousands of students every year from achieving their goals.
But this shift is also an opportunity. It’s a chance to rethink how preparation works — not just for TOEFL, but for every high-stakes speaking test.
Our Mission
Our mission is to give every learner the ability to succeed on high-stakes English speaking tests with the power of data. We believe that accurate, immediate, and personalized feedback can transform preparation from guesswork into a clear, repeatable path to success.
We want to live in a world where speaking test prep is fair, accessible, and effective — no longer dependent on expensive human coaching or guess-and-check learning. We want to democratize test success by making the world’s best speaking preparation available to anyone, anywhere.
Creating a New Category: Data-Guided Speaking Training
Traditional prep relies on tutors, scripts, and repetition. These methods are slow, expensive, and often disconnected from how tests are actually scored.
We are creating a new category: Data-Guided Speaking Training.
Instead of scripted responses and vague advice, learners get:
- Real AI feedback aligned with official scoring systems.
- Transparent score tracking across fluency, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and delivery.
- Adaptive drills and strategies tailored to their personal data.
This is not just a new product — it is a new way of preparing for speaking tests.
The Master Plan for 2026
Phase 1 (2025): Transition and Readiness
- Launch practice tests and scoring aligned with the 2026 TOEFL Speaking format.
- Provide clear explanations of the new rubrics, scoring bands, and task types.
- Help students build confidence during the overlap period (when both old and new formats are offered).
Phase 2 (2026): TOEFL Leadership
- Make My Speaking Score the most accurate and trusted predictor of TOEFL Speaking scores under the new system.
- Offer transparent scoring with confidence intervals, so learners know exactly where they stand.
- Deliver targeted lessons and drills tied directly to the new task types.
Phase 3 (2027–2028): Expansion Beyond TOEFL
- By Year 3, expand into all major speaking assessments: IELTS, PTE, DET, CELPIP.
- Create concordance tables so learners can see how their performance translates across tests.
- Position My Speaking Score as the universal benchmark for speaking test preparation.
Phase 4 (Beyond 2028): Transformation
- Build a real-time AI speaking coach that adapts to every learner in the moment.
- Partner with institutions for placement, remediation, and large-scale assessment.
- Push research in AI fairness, accent equity, and speaking pedagogy to set global standards.
Our Principles
- Fairness first: Our scoring systems are tested across accents, genders, and geographies.
- Transparency always: Students should never see a score they can’t understand.
- Evidence over tradition: If it doesn’t help learners improve, we won’t do it.
- Student success above all: Our success is measured in score gains and changed lives.
The Scale of Our Goal
Every year, millions of students take TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, DET, and CELPIP. Too many fail to achieve the speaking scores they need, delaying careers, degrees, and dreams.
Our goal is to help over 1,000,000 learners every year achieve their target speaking scores — without wasting precious time and money on ineffective methods.
The Big Picture
The TOEFL changes coming in 2026 are not just an update. They are a signal that speaking test assessment is evolving — becoming more rigorous, more aligned with real-world communication, and more dependent on data.
We believe preparation must evolve too. That’s what this Master Plan is about: not just keeping up with the future of testing, but building it.
My Speaking Score will lead the way into a new era of test prep — one where learners aren’t dependent on luck or privilege, but on data, science, and their own determination.
The future belongs to those who are prepared. We’re here to make sure every learner is.
